i am fascinated with close-up shots (macro mode) of many things, so the pictures in this website represent my continual explorations in colour, texture, and space - many were captured with a Nikon CoolPix S10, some with a Sony CyberShot H9, and recently with a Nikon CoolPix P80.
editing is occasionally done in Adobe Photoshop CS2 - and recently CS3 - particularly where photomerge (panoramic stitching) and high dynamic range (HDR) imaging are attempted. other corrections involve levels, curves, colour balance, saturation, shadows, distortions and the occasional blemish removal. i rarely use Adobe Lightroom or Nikon ViewNX, and only when very minor manipulations are needed.
the software called combineZM is used for stacking (see the two gladiola shots and three white lily shots). the freeware FastStone Photo Resizer for Windowsis also a very convenient application for batch processing; it resizes, adds a border, and overlays your watermark. recently, my use for Photoshop declines as i find that Photo Resizer does what i frequently require of my shots easier and quicker - this liberates me to take more pictures rather than spend more time editing (repairing or enhancing) in front of the screen.
somehow, this makes me try harder and take better shots, however, so i don't have to manipulate the image a lot (invariably using Photoshop). since i'm aiming to be better in taking photographs and don't do many compositing projects, i think i'm maturing in a sense that i don't have to heavily depend a lot on photomanipulation.
